I have some old Street and Smith baseball guides and you'd be surprised how highly thought of many of these players were. Just goes to show you how hard it is to make that final jump to the show and remain there.
He needs a Pirates card. He pitched 5 games for the Bucs in 1969. I don't see a pic of him anywhere as a Pirate. Also, Pedro Ramos, Orlando Pena (?) I don't even remember Savage as a Pirate

Cambria pitched well in his 1970 debut, but developed arm problems the following year & never resurfaced

ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken Concepcion had but one AB as a Bucco & finished his Pirates career batting 1.000
